Special emphasis is placed on the management and prevention of pressure ulcers in primary and secondary care.
An initial risk assessment is carried out to assess the equipment needed for optimal treatment. All patients vulnerable to developing pressure ulcers should be placed on high specification foam mattresses as a minimum intervention.
